Da Bomb Hot Sauce Review

If you’re a big fan of Sean Evan’s show Hot Ones then you’ll be familiar with the sauce that stops the celebrities in their tracks, marks down their ego, and even leaves some staring into the abyss with tears streaming down their face.

We don’t know about you, but as a hot sauce lover, any sauce evokes those kinds of reactions we need to try and so we did.

We decided to take one for the team and try it ourselves to bring you our thoughts on the Da Bomb Beyond Insanity Hot Sauce that managed to bring even the fiery Gordon Ramsey to tears.

PRODUCT REVIEW

Scent

The aroma of this hot sauce is deceptively inviting, with hints of smokey habanero but also combined with a sweetness that probably comes from the orange juice concentrate in the ingredients.

Honestly, we’ve smelt hot sauces that had a worse scent than this before but tasted better, so you really can’t judge a book by its cover.

Just don’t say we didn’t warn you.

Flavor

Some of the main ingredients in this Da Bomb hot sauce are habanero peppers, chipotle puree, orange juice concentrate, natural pepper flavoring, and tomato paste, which you would think taste real good, but trust us it’s like the devil has spawned in there.

You’ll taste the smokiness straight away, it’ll hit you like a truck and then the tomato paste starts to evolve and it brings a very acidic tasting and almost chemical-like taste.

This combined with the heat is just way too much and is probably why everyone struggles with it so bad.

In reality, it’s only #8 on the list on Hot Ones but it tastes somewhat similar to what we’d imagine nuclear waste does, so warrants the disgusted response.

The pepper extract is what makes this beyond insanity, quite literally, so if you’re looking for something to prank your friends with, this will do the job nicely.

They didn’t create this sauce for flavor, so don’t be expecting any life-changing tastes in your mouth.

If you do manage to eat this stuff for enjoyment, then we have to give it to you, you’re one hell of a human being and deserve some sort of accolade from the president.

Consistency

The consistency of Beyond Insanity is pretty thick in comparison to other hot sauces, which is most definitely needed as you only need a tiny amount to create tons of heat.

Any thinner than this explosive sauce would smother and ruin any dish you intended to eat.

Just stick to one or two tiny drops even if you claim to be the ultimate hot sauce connoisseur.

Spiciness

Da Bomb Beyond Insanity hot sauce comes in at 135,6000 Scoville units and generally in terms of spice, anything under a million Scoville units is considered a milder hot sauce, but don’t be fooled as this one will have you reaching for the milk with only a tiny dab of the stuff.

It’s way hotter than you think it’s going to be so if you’re gathering together some hot sauces for a tasting session with mates working whilst trying to work up the Scoville scale, then be warned as this is a dark horse.

Please be respectful of this mind-blowing hot sauce whenever you come to try it, add 1or 2 drops to your plate or wings, and wait for it to hit you.

If you’re of sound mind, you’ll know not to drizzle this stuff all over your food unless you fancy crying and sweating into your glass of milk.

The heat will hit the back of your throat immediately and it won’t leave for over 30 minutes, no matter what you try to drink or eat, just lie down on the floor and breathe yourself back to sanity.

Usability & Value

Honestly, unless you’re some sort of maniac, we don’t see anyone sitting down and comfortably enjoying this Da Bomb Beyond Insanity hot sauce.

The heat overpowers food very quickly and even a small amount added to another sauce will bring an intense kick.

We recommend pairing this hot sauce with some cool sour cream or even some mayo to make the heat more bearable and to eventually be able to see the sauce go down in the bottle over time.

The shelf life of this sauce is recommended around 2 years so you’ll have plenty of time to torture your friends and hopefully use up as much of it as possible to get your money’s worth.

When you buy hot sauce like this, you’re not just buying the sauce for flavor or heat but you’re also paying for the experience, the opportunity to prank your friends, and the ability to destroy mouths (and friendships).

Even if you don’t plan on using it again, it’s a total showstopper to keep in your pantry and a great one to pull out at parties or even game nights to get everybody fired up (literally).

About Da Bomb Hot Sauce

Beyond Insanity Hot Sauce by Da Bomb has confidently secured a position over many seasons on Hot Ones and for good reason as it creates some laugh-out-loud moments with the celebrities' reactions.

It’s managed to hold down the position of the 8th hottest sauce out of all the sauces for over 10 seasons on Hot Ones and is often always pronounced the worst one of the lot despite there being 2 hotter sauces afterward.

Da Bomb Beyond Insanity would be a terrific gift idea for someone who claims to be able to handle even the hottest of hot sauces and on the other hand, it would be a totally sick joke for anyone who can’t handle a bit of sriracha as this stuff will blow your mind.

Where To Buy Da Bomb Hot Sauce?

You may be able to find Da Bomb hot sauces around in independent food retail stores, however, the easiest way to get your hands on it is by buying it on Amazon.

Final Thoughts

We feel like this has been a warning statement rather than a glowing review, but we now realize what Sean Evans puts his guests through and we can sympathize.

Da Bomb Beyond Insanity serves its purpose and whilst it wouldn’t be our go-to recommendation for hot sauce lovers, it’s one you need to try just to say you’ve done it.
